About Us
The UL Foundation was born out of a bold idea: that art, design, and cultural identity could become powerful tools for giving back. As a college student, I created a video to pitch a logo concept to my university—a moment that planted the first seed for what would become the UL Foundation. That early video, later restored with the help of HandBrake, still captures the spirit of what we stand for today: vision, identity, and purposeful creation.
Originally registered as a nonprofit multimedia design company, the UL Foundation was designed to give back through art, music, fashion, and culture. Today, it has evolved into the philanthropic arm of Air Gumbo, reflecting a mission that is deeper and wider than ever.
Though the organization is formally titled UL Foundation, in spirit, it stands for Universal Love. That belief runs through every project we support—from cultural preservation and educational equity to artistic expression and design for social impact.
We don’t just give—we build.
We don’t just create—we uplift.
We don’t just serve—we love.
If you've ever believed that creativity can heal, that culture can empower, and that love can lead—then you already believe in the UL Foundation.

The original UL logo I designed was a living identity—constantly evolving, much like MTV’s dynamic brand language. It challenged the university’s traditional approach to branding and highlighted the power of storytelling through visual transformation. That idea—of design as motion, identity as energy—still fuels everything the UL Foundation stands for.
